IPB Biotech Faculty Group

We believe the University's "ivory tower" should have a skyway -- to directly bridge academic research and teaching with local biotechnology, biomedical and pharmaceutical enterprises. Our department currently offers short courses and a special MS program for local biomedical scientists working in industry, and several faculty and adjunct faculty members have collaborations with local companies. In 2007 we welcome to our ranks the IBP Biotech Faculty Group -- academic professors who are also founders and CSOs of local biotech, biomedical and small pharma start-up companies. As joint faculty and entrepreneurs, the IBP Biotech Faculty's mission is to help maintain a basic and translational research and teaching pipeline between the U and the larger corporate research community, and to contribute their knowledge about both worlds to assist IBP students in becoming the academic and corporate leaders of tomorrow. Our Biotech Faculty are a unique, direct bridge between academia and industry.
