WHAT DOES AN ORIGINAL RESEARCH ARTICLE LOOK LIKE?
It is common for research articles to have distinct sections for each of the above topics, in the order listed above. However, some papers will have a different format, although all of the above topics will be addressed somewhere. For example, in journals such as Science and Nature, which have strict page limits for the articles, experimental methods are located in footnotes at the end of the paper. Review articles usually do not include descriptions of experimental methods. When experimental data are illustrated in a review article, the figure legend will include a citation pointing the reader to the source of the original study. Remember that clinical studies are not acceptable for this project.
Clinical studies will use human subjects and discuss patient pools. |
