IBP In the News - Kudos Corner

Both Anatomy and Physiology courses were ranked very high recently by current medical students.

Our 4th year med students completed an evaluation for the AAMC.  115 our of the 170 students responded.

On the evaluation question:

"Indicate how well you think that instruction in the following sciences basic to medicine prepared you for clinical
clerkships and electives: (Scale: 1=Poor to 4= Excellent)"

Current 4th year students rated Gross anatomy 3.6/4.0.   This is higher than last year 3.5, and higher than the national average 3.4.

Gross anatomy and Pathophysiology of Disease were the highest of all courses with a 3.6.   Physiology was next with 3.5.  All above the national average.

Congrats to Mark Cook, who, for the second year in a row, has been given the "Professor of the Year" award from the first year dental class.

Kudos to John Osborn. He was an invited speaker at the IUPS meeting in Kyoto japan for a symposium on "Neurogenic Mechanisms of Hypertension".
