DECLARING THE MAJOR

To declare a major in Physiology, you will need to meet with the Director of Undergraduate Studies in Physiology, Professor Vincent Barnett. At that meeting, you will complete a major program form, which must be filed with your College Advising Office, for Physiology to be your officially declared major.

Before meeting with Professor Barnett, please review the program requirements. Click here for a simple questionnaire. Please complete this form and bring it with you to your first meeting.

Walk-in Advising Hours: 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Tuesdays and Fridays in the Department of Physiology, 6-125 Jackson Hall. It is best to give me a call or e-mail me to let me know you're coming. Leave your phone number; this allows me to anticipate the load and make adjustments to save your time and mine.

Appointments: Cheerfully made but only if the student has a class or job conflict during office hours. At the time of your visit we will discuss plans for the future, and complete a form that you will take to the CLA upper division office to declare the major and receive advice on scheduling classes to meet both the major and CLA requirements.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact Professor Barnett directly. Contact via e-mail is very efficient. Students will usually get very prompt information and discussion via this route. barne014@umn.edu. Professor Barneet can also be reached by phone at 612.624.8135.
